Boden Campaign in Venice

Courage Production was in charge of the photo production in Venice, Italy for Boden, shot by Sam Wilson. The full logistics package was run from Milan, with the production unit and key figures traveling to Venice for the shoot.

Venice, Italy, can be a challenging shoot location: there are no roads. Every piece of equipment, every crew member, and every equipment case moves by boat or by hand across bridges. This single fact rewrites the logistics plan. Courage Production builds the Venice shot list around water transport windows, not road call times, because in Venice the boat schedule is the production schedule.

Working in Venezia requires coordination of permits with the council of Venice for public areas, and with the lagoon authority for any on-water work. Foot traffic in the central sestieri is extreme during high season. We secured the access windows in the early morning, before the day tourist flow arrives, and set the unit base close to a water taxi point to cut transfer time for talent and crew.

The campaign used two location types: canal exteriors and the enclosed historic interiors for controlled formal sets. The Palazzo location was contracted for exclusive production use, with a private area for wardrobe, hair and make-up, and catering brought in by boat. Moving a full catering setup by water in Venice is a logistics line item that does not exist anywhere else in Italy. We plan for it.
