Golden Goose Film Production in Milan
Directed by Andrea Calvetti
Courage Production produced the Golden Goose Dad Star sneaker film in the countryside outside Milan, shot by director Andrea Calvetti with DoP Stefano Usberghi. The spot uses a vinyl record as the thread for a father's memories triggered by his old sneakers, shot on Kodak 16mm.
Shooting on film changes the production plan. Kodak 16mm means finite stock, lab turnaround and no instant playback, so the day must run on schedule. Courage Production built the daily plan around film reload windows and a locked shot list, because you cannot fix a 16mm frame in post the way you can with digital.
The location was a villa in the countryside, but the production was based in Milan. Courage Production scouted the villa outside Milan for the right location mood, then ran the shoot from the Milan HQ. Crew, camera and grip came from base, about an hour from the location, no travel unit needed. This is the reach of a Milan production company working in the territory around the city.
Everything ran from Milan. Courage Production handled location scouting and contracting, the 16mm camera package, crew, set design, transport and the full schedule for the campaign.
