Kappa x Budweiser Commercial Production in Italy

Courage Production produced the Kappa x Budweiser World Cup commercial in Italy for Hypemaker, Hypebeast's creative agency. Directed by Elliot Simpson with DoP Paolo Fossati, the spot moves through small hill villages and open country roads about an hour from Milan, built around a vintage passenger bus.

The bus came first. A period passenger coach in working order is not something you rent from a catalog. Courage Production tracked one down, checked it could run safely on narrow hill roads, and built the schedule around its moves, because a vintage vehicle sets its own pace on set.

Closing a road is a permit job with a long tail. Courage Production secured the authorisation to close a stretch of hill road for the driving sequences, coordinated with the local municipality and traffic management, and planned diversions so residents kept access. The villages were scouted for character first, then for the practical side: unit parking, a base for wardrobe and grooming, and enough room for the bus to turn.

Everything ran from Milan. With every location inside an hour of the city, the full crew worked out of the Milan HQ each day. No hotels, no travel days. On a commercial with this many moving parts, that kept the budget on screen instead of on accommodation.
